We are a vinegar loving family. We have rice, balsamic, cider, red wine, white and more.  The kids love using vinegars as a dip and I enjoy making my own dressings, marinades etc. so when I was asked to review a seasoned vinegar from NAKANO’s new line, I said send to it over.

I then received a bottle of the Italian Herb Dressing & Marinade and put some thought into how I wanted to use it. I happen to find an article that talked about using red wine vinegar to tenderize tough meat as it breaks down tough fibers so I took that route for my first recipe.  The recipe is simple: take the meat and place it into a plastic bag or some sort of vessel, add a few tablespoons of the seasoned vinegar and marinade in the fridge about 2 hours.  We then grilled it until medium well done.

I expected to be able to taste a bit more italian herb flavor but it was subtle and meat was tender so it did a good job.  Next chose to mix some of the vinegar with some extra-virgin olive oil and use that as a dressing for a simple salad of baby spinach, sweet onion and dried cranberries. The flavor was more detectable and was a nice touch to a simple salad on a hot summer day.

After using the seasoned vinegar both ways, I knew that this is a product that many would appreciate because of its flexibility.  What I did not appreciate so much was the use of high fructose corn syrup however, the rice wine vinegars that I use from NAKANO do not contain the HFCS so I am happy about that.

So, would  you like to try one of the NAKANO Seasoned Vinegars yourself? Then enter to win a NAKANO Prize Pack (one bottle of product, $25  Gift Card & recipe/coupon booklet):           To enter, you MUST:
