Happy World Kindness Day! I will be kind to you by sharing this quick and easy Thanksgiving, or anytime, side dish recipe.
Simply grab your favorite herbs, some garlic powder or salt and a touch of unsalted butter.
Better yet, make some compound butter a few days ahead of time, steam the carrots, top with the compound butter and place on the table. Voila!
2 large whole carrots
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
1/8 teaspoons each of your favorite dried herbs (I used tarragon, dill, sage and rosemary)
A few dashes of garlic powder or salt
Ground black pepper and coarse salt to taste
1. Bring a 3 quart pot of water to a boil and place a steamer inside. Peel the carrots, slice diagonally and steam until somewhat softened but not soft.
2. Place the carrots into a bowl, top with butter, mix and then season with herbs, garlic and salt and pepper to taste.
