The Time Between

There are about thirty minutes between taking my daughter to school and when my son can go into his school. We do various things during this time: read books, sing, dance party in the car, cuddling on my lap and walking around.

On this particular morning, he was just looking out the car window and observing nature so I just stared at him from the side view mirror. After a few minutes, I remembered I had my camera so tried to quietly sneak in some photos. Sure enough, he noticed and starting hamming it up.

Hi Krissy, I know exactly how you feel and so would try to have my daughter have her quiet time in her room and play while I put my son down for a nap. However, I would really spend some time playing in his room or reading and cuddling before I left him to rest.

Hi Jennifer. Thanks for sharing this story. I have a 3 year old daughter and a son who is 6 months. At the end of the day I feel like I haven’t spent any quality time with my son. Sure I feed him, change him and lug him around in the baby carrier but we don’t get to play a lot because my active 3 year old seems to eat up all of my attention. I look forward to a time when him and I will get some one on one time!
