Columbus Day Parade, Pumpkins & Painting a Dresser

Today started off with lots of parade excitement as my daughter and husband were marching which meant an early start.  My son and I brought a magnetic bingo game and some cars to keep ourselves busy but only after a stop for an iced coffee. We then had a great time getting to know our neighbors sitting on the sidewalk and enjoying the parade. I was so proud that  my little girl stuck with the entire 3 hours parade process.

Upon arriving home, I went to work with the oven and roasted a sugar pumpkin and some butternut squash. I will share these on Babble this week (roasted pumpkin and other pumpkin ideas will go live tomorrow morning).

And to round up the evening, the first coat of paint on a new and no-longer unfinished dresser is drying as I type. I can not believe my daughter has grown too big for her current three drawer dresser.

What are some of your favorite pumpkin recipes?
