Hanes Sock Drive benefitting The Salvation Army & The Good Egg Project

This time of year is a time of giving as well as receiving and I love seeing companies in the giving spirit. There are two campaigns I wanted to tell you about and one is timely and the other runs the entire year.

First up is about Hanes: Hanes has launched a Sock Drive benefitting The Salvation Army.  Beginning December 1, for every Hanes Facebook fan who clicks “Help Hanes Donate,” Hanes will donate an actual pair of socks towards its goal of 500,000 pairs (or 1 million individual socks). Can you imagine that by simply clicking a button, you are helping people in homeless shelter?!

There is also a fun part of this campaign as there is a sock-o-meter on the Facebook page so you can monitor the progress of the drive.

The next campaign that is a year-round campaign is that Good Egg Project. You may recall that I went to the Good Egg Project event in Oregon in September and talked about the dinner and the tour. Well, as the title states, we were also there to learn about the Good Egg Project. You see, not only do America’s egg farmers want you to commit to living more healthfully, they also want you to give back to the community. Simply sign the pledge (provide your name, email and zip code, and “sign” the pledge by checking the box) and one egg will be donated to Feeding America – up to one million eggs!
