Ice Skating at URI and The Tower of Sticks

After being couped up thanks to the blizzard (see, see, see), we were ready for some adventure and exercise so first up was ice skating. Actually, it was my daughter and husband that wanted to ice skate and so I got to run after my son as he ran up and down all the bleachers.

It was so cute and touching to watch the father-daughter duo on their little date.

Once we left the skating Rink, we ate at The Station House Cafe. I loved the pesto veggie burger with sauteed mushrooms and roasted red peppers.  Feeling the itch for more adventure, I spotted this wooden tower on the way home and had my husband turn around so we could explore.  We climbed up the stairs which was a bit more than we bargained for as they were steep and covered with snow.

The funniest part of the trip is on the way down, my son mentioned that this tower was built from sticks. I tried to correct him and say they were logs but my husband cut me off and said, ‘Yes, this is the Tower of Sticks’. It made us all laugh…..a lot.
