Snow Cream Recipes for The 1/11/11 Nor’Easter

This past weekend brought two small snow storms to Rhode Island and we are expecting another huge storm this week so it made me think about the snow cream recipes we made over Christmas break. I made a basic snow cream recipe and then stepped it up a notch with a Eggnog Snow Cream (thank goodness all the eggnog is gone).

Snow Cream Recipe:
1/2 cup half-n-half
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
4 cups of fresh snow

Mix the half-n-half, sugar and vanilla together until the sugar dissolves.  The mix with 4 cups of snow, adding 1 cup of snow at a time & mix until you get a thick consistency.  Add some sprinkles and smile!

Now trust me when I say, once you make your first batch of Snow Cream, you are going to want to experiment so try some Chocolate, Strawberry or Lemon Snow Cream.

Yum! Sounds great! When I was a kid, my mom would drizzle maple syrup over bowls of snow. I like your recipe and can’t wait to try it tomorrow!
