Super Bowl Recipes & Food Part 1: Loaded and Lightened 7 layer Dip

The Super Bowl isn’t just about the teams and cheerleaders: It’s about Super Bowl recipes, too!  Therefore, I am sharing some healthier versions of game-day favorites that still have plenty of flavor and will have you and your guests shouting ‘Touch Down!’

This loaded dip has no sour cream or refried beans but it does have plenty of fiber, flavor and wow factor! Serve with baked tortilla chips or pretzel crisps

Ingredients:

4 oz. reduced fat cream cheese, chopped
1 medium avocado, chopped
1 15-ounce can black beans, rinsed
2 cups prepared salsa, mild (unless you and your guests like more heat)
1 1/2 cups chopped romaine lettuce
1/2 cup canned sliced black olives
2-3 tablespoons cilantro, chopped

Directions:

Scatter the avocado and cream cheese around the bottom of a platter with a small edge (easier to scoop from). Next distribute the beans, top with salsa then lettuce, followed by olives and cilantro.

What are some of your Super Bowl snacks?

Love a layered dip! They’re great for watching sports, tailgating, or just for snacking with family.

Layered dips are so great and quite easy to make, perfect for the big game too! And you can alter the combination of layers too, and add other items such as sour cream, taco seasoning, ranch dressing, guacamole, jalapenos, diced tomatoes.

Hey, you need to add the “Saints” to your football tags list!

    Bon appetit!

Jennifer, I have to tell you – I am not at all into the Super Bowl, but I am very into the food. Great dip!
