Thanks for Thanksgiving

I am not a know-it-all however, I do know that all families have their Holiday Traditions. In our home, each Thanksgiving before we eat the big meal, we share what we are thankful for.

For many years we have written what we shared in a book called ‘Thanks for Thanksgiving’. Knowing that I would be away from my hubby and babes this weekend, I brought the book with me and thought I would share some of what we have written. Some years we have documented somewhere else as we probably could not find the book on the huge mess well organized shelf.

2007:

Isabel (age 3): ‘I am grateful for Daddy, Nana, Grandpa, Patrick, Matthew, Lisa, Dom, Maddie, Marc, Emily, Marcella, Mommy, Mommy and Benjamin.

Ben (age 1): We assumed he was thankful for his thumb, letters & numbers

Daddy (age not important): Our big, happy family

Mommy (age = don’t ask): A healthy family & happy home

2011:

Isabel (age 7): I am thankful for Lammy (stuffed animal), Azzy & Rachel (cats), animals. The End.

Ben (age 5): Rachel & Azzy (cats), Mommy, Isabel, The World, Daddy, house, kechup.

Nana (age, uh, over 55): Life, Friends, Family, Pets, God, Jesus & Holy Spirit

Daddy (age not important): Health, our family, and that we are able to share how fortunate we are.

Mommy (age = don’t ask): I am thankful for health, our home, warmth, baths, giggles, smooth running cars, lots of energy, my husband, kids and all of my family and friends.
