A Day In The Life: Washington D.C. Bound

Yes, I am about a week (or more) behind on my daily updates but hey, that is how I have to roll when there are so many projects going on around here.

In fact, my husband is busy with the ‘tamper’ machine right now. Bam! He hit the foundation again. What is he doing you wonder? I am not telling yet but it is good.

Any-who, back to D.C. We took a alternate path down to DC from RI by talking the Tappan Zee to 287, 78 and other roads that took us past Harrisburg. We choose this route instead of joining the traffic going down Rt. 95.

Within 2 hours of the trip: the ‘Are we there yet questions’ began but between coloring books, Sirius kids station (3 months free with the van!) music, count the cows and 2 movies, the trip was enjoyable.

Out hotel was located in Maryland, just next to the Washingtonian Center, which I highly recommend hoteling near. There are great stores, play areas, a movie theater, and all kinds of activities for everyone.

We immediately went swimming in the indoor pool and then once our muscles were exercised, we headed to dinner at Joe’s Crab Shack (not impressed) and then to the Playground to work out the last bit of energy in the under 7 set.

Here our son finds some sculpture he seems to bond with…..

And now his sister ruins it for him……

Time for the adventureland playground:

One tiny ounce of energy needs to be used up…..

And off to the hotel to rest. Hooray!
