A Day In The Life: Zithromax and Soccer Balls

You know when you feel something in your gut but you try to ignore it? You try to convince yourself that it isn’t so?

Maybe you are just worrying too much and try to distract yourself? Well, I decided to stop doing that and take action.

I expected my throat would have felt increasingly better as the days wore on yet it did not. Plus, my entire neck hurt as did my upper mouth and tongue when I yawned. I have been exhausted. How could this be just from a nodule on my vocal chord?

I asked my husband to please call the doctor Friday. So they pulled the old ‘double-book a time slot’ trick and got me in. The doctor treated me to the tube through my nose again followed by an external throat examine which I relate to a friendly choking.

He was quiet, reviewed my chart and said, ‘the nodule is shrinking, I don’t see any other damage to your throat although the strep infection has now spread. What strep infection? I replied. Then he went on to tell me that I tested positive for strep 2.5 weeks ago although it is a strain they don’t normally treat with antibiotics. Well guess what?  I guess I had the lucky juice it needed to multiply and now we needed some good antibiotics. Well heck, that explained so much of what I was feeling!

I was given permission to speak gently when I feel up to it but not to sing or raise my voice and to come back in 6 weeks. I came home and typed my hubby a note telling him what was going on so he cheered me up with a lunch date and then picked up the prescription.  Now onto soccer balls:

Our son began soccer on Saturday, followed by a birthday party while my husband and daughter took part in a 5K fundraising walk which was then followed by dinner time with friends and movie night at home.

Splendidly delicious.

Tell me all about your weekend!

p.s. Thank You to sweet Anita for the email.
