A Day In The Life: The Cheese Plate Restaurant (Yes, This Is A Dream Come True)

Wednesday night I attended the re-opening of The Cheese Plate in Warren, RI. Also in attendance we a few members of Rhode Island Digital Media including my comrade, Kirsten of The Chatter Group.

The new owners are the same wonderful people who own Tortilla Flats in Providence but before we get to the cheese, let me show you around a bit.

You already wish you were there right now don’t you? All huddled in the corner with a cheese plate in front of you and wine in one hand but how about some artwork first?

Okay, now we can move on. The Cheese Plate is not a large establishment but more of an intimate and slightly eclectic place. When you walk in, your eyes may be transfixed on this:

The menu has geographical pairings of cheeses (and wines if you wish) from around the world or you can order your cheeses of choice ala carte…..

Here is an example of what you can have placed before you:

Oh, you aren’t that hungry? Then just have one plate…..which would you choose?

I had a great time last night and am thrilled to have found a restaurant that gives me the feeling of being in a classy coffee house with food served by people who have expertise and passion. The Cheese Plate would be a great place to chat with girlfriends, sip wine with the hubby or indulge in your cheese obsession (ahem….).

What’s wrong? Is something missing? ohhh….yes, they do have dessert. In fact, they have amazing desserts: Trust me when I say this: you MUST place eating the Pear & Almond Tart on your bucket list, the cheesecake is the best you will have tasted in years and if you want some chocolate then grab the flourless chocolate tort. (no, that is not how the desserts are presented but simply a sampling)

As you can tell, Kirsten approved of the Pear Tart. In fact, we both considered asking others if they wanted us to eat their sample in order to um, you know, help them stay in bathing suit shape.

What is your favorite cheese?
