Tooth Tunes: Brushing Teeth While Listening to Music

Did I ever tell you about the ‘teeth’ battle in this house?

My husband has nice, tight, straight teeth while I um, do not. His family also has no history of dental challenges but um, my side is, well, not like his.

Therefore, I am really always trying to get the kids to properly brush, floss and at night, to use the mouth wash the dentist recommends.

As you suspect, the kids don’t really want to spend more than 30 seconds doing any of that gobbily gook or listening to Mom however, I found a fun solution to the brushing properly part!

The Tooth Tunes™ tooth brush by Arm & Hammer features Music in Your Mouth™ technology! What am I talking about? I will tell you: You literally listen to a song, for 2 minutes, while you brush your teeth. The sound vibrations from the bristles of the toothbrush through the teeth, allowing kids to hear the music while they brush. Yes, music.

The two newest offerings feature one of two songs by One Direction (In fact, this is the only toothbrushes that plays One Direction in North America). You can choose either “One Thing”, which my son has or ‘What Makes You Beautiful”, which my daughter made me run out to buy her once the first tooth brush came in the mail.

Apparently, Arm & Hammer Tooth Tunes™ launched all the way back in July 2012. Had I had known that, I would have gotten myself the toothbrush with “Dynamite” by Taio Cruz or “I Gotta Feeling” performed by Black Eyed Peas.

Doesn’t it ‘sound’ great??! The kids have been using these toothbrushes for a week now and brush the entire 2 minutes, the dentist’s recommended brushing time, and they don’t even notice that they have brushed for so long.

The toothbrushes are about $9.99 (I bought it at CVS but have also seen at the grocery store) and last for about three months which is great as you are supposed to toss them and get a new one every three months anyway.

Learn more on the Arm & Hammer Facebook page and keep an eye out for coupons too!

I think my daughter would enjoy one of these. Right now she has a little sand timer given to her from a dentist that visited her school.

I like the idea of the 1 min song, but I don’t think my son would care for One Direction.

When my kids were little I would have the germs sing a song (Kung Foo Fighting to be exact) and they would try to run away from the tooth brush to be able to stay in my kid’s mouth to have a party to dig holes. The germs would sing and have conversations and warn other germs to move to another area to hide …. then we’d get them of course and boy the sound of the germs calling as they washed down the drain got the kids hysterical!

This is so awesome. I remember having a sand timer as a kid… no fun. The fact that the songs aren’t just “tunes” but cool, new music?! That’s so awesome!!! I think I need one for myself!
