Traveling around Rhode Island & Dining at Red 36 in Mystic, CT, including the Denison Peqoutsepos Nature Center, with family.

For five days, my Aunt was visiting. Luckily, I had July 3rd off so we had a few full days to spend together. On Friday, we drove around Mystic, CT, visited the Denison Peqoutsepos Nature Center and had lunch at Red 36.

Besides the spectacular outside seating and view, the restaurant was gorgeous, the food was great, and while you wait for your table, you can sit in comfort on some luxurious couches or on Adirondack chairs on the deck.

We then walked around the downtown Mystic area and headed home to swim and eat Smore’s. On Saturday, we headed to the beach in Watch Hill, right next to Taylor Swift’s house, and had my Aunt dip her toes in the ocean. She is from Louisiana so any temperature below 80 is considered worthy of a jacket, socks and long-underwear.

Sunday we headed out to cruise around Pt. Judith, R.I. with a pit-stop at the lighthouse. The view was gorgeous but do not get to close to the edge or you will find yourself lying on a bunch of rocks near the ocean.

We then had by lunch at The Coast Guard House in Narragansett followed by some time in Newport. I highly recommend sitting on the upper deck at The Coast Guard House and ordering the crab cakes.

On Monday, since I had to work, the boys took Aunt to the library, a walk in the park and then out to lunch, On Tuesday, Auntie had to head home but we plan on heading to L.A. soon!
