Chicken Tinga Burrito Bowl in Mystic Connecticut

Mother’s Day 2023 was a perfect weather day. It was sunny and 70 degrees with a light breeze. You could wear pants, shorts, sleeveless top with a light cardigan or a hoodie and be comfortable. A perfect day to walk in the park, sit outside and read a book or even walk on the beach.

For lunch, we ate at Nana’s in Mystic Connecticut. They have two locations that I am aware of: One in Westerly, Rhode Island, and in Mystic, Connecticut. In addition to handmade organic pizza, they offer a selection of fresh breads, small plates, sandwiches and burritos that you can have made into a bowl. They also sell specialty lattes and coffees and breakfast. I selected the Chicken Tinga Burrito Bowl. The bowl is made with macha rice (that is how it’s spelled although I’m not finding anything about this type of rice), black beans, cheddar, cheese, spicy, mayo, pickled onions, salsa rojo and baby greens topped with cilantro.
